Announcer for the George Burns and Gracie Allen show back in the 50's (sponsored by Carnation evaporated milk), Harry Von Zell had a distinctive voice and great stage presence. I remembered him from the Burn's and Allen show as I was trying to figure out who my professor reminded me of in a class I took as an undergraduate. Advanced Expository Writing was supposed to be an easy 4 hour "A" but turned out to be a nightmare for me. You were required to actually go to class, read, and write. The saving grace was the professor. He looked and talked just like Harry Von Zell..I told him so..but still only managed to squeak by as very average.. with points deducted by the truckload full for non-attendance and inattention...
